Center to center, outside bolt to outside bolt, front and rear, measures 20 1/2" on my '48 B1.
Interestingly, the same feature on the MU winch on my W500 is 21 1/2". I think this is accounted for in the fact that the clutch and shifter assembly are on the opposite end of the drum.
