I'm ready to re-install my winch and I see that the spacing between the holes on the front mounting is about 1/4" farther apart than what I think it should when I measure my rebuilt unit. Maybe it was mounted wrong to begin with and the shaft didn't go all the way into the bearing on the dead end. The front mounts are welded to the home-made bumper so I can't move them, but if need be I'll weld up the holes and re-drill them. My rear mount is even further off. It's home-made out of an angle iron, but I was figuring on re-using it. I also figure now's the time to get it mounted right.
So, if someone has a nicely-done MU-2 winch installation, could you kindly measure the distance between either the outside two mounting holes or the inside two holes both front and back on your setup and let me know what they measure? The front and back mountings are slightly different. Thanks!
