The axles on W300’s are complicated because there’s lots of them. First, for every year, there were 3 different rear axles. SRW axles, DRW axles & then DRW axles with the Utiline bed. So if you have a truck like Bills, the Utiline bed doesn’t fit properly unless you change the rear axle. The rear axles used with the DRW Utiline trucks is the rarest because most W300’s with DRW wheee either flatbed trucks or cab & chassis.
Then guys like me make it really complicated but swapping all that stuff around :)
The axles on the white W300 there that I built are correct for a DRW Utiline W300...just it has an older body on the chassis & then I swapped the motor & tranny to a 383 auto with the dash shift.
It’s a fun truck to drive, for sure but it’s not comparable to Bills truck in any way. That truck of his is amazing & probably the nicest W300 restoration I’ve ever seen.
Nice to see someone do one properly like that.
