Went to the local auto parts store today. Seems they no longer have Mobil Super 5000 conventional 10W30. It's either Mobil Super Synthetic or Mobil 1 Premium Synthetic. They were running a sale on Havoline and Valvoline conventional too. I ended up buying some Valvoline conventional 10W30.

The guy at the counter said that the conventional engine oils were going away. That the applications for them are too.

I've heard about the harm that GL5 gear lube can do in older vehicles and have special ordered GL4 80W-90.

I'm going to have to overhaul the engine in the truck sooner or later anyways. I suppose I could then use synthetic oil at that time with all the new gaskets and seals installed.

Have a lot of people hear switched over and now run full synthetic lube in there trucks? Do they work ok?
