40 ft/lbs on the inner nut
50 ft/lbs on the outer nut
First, I cranked the inner nut to 100 ft/lbs while spinning the wheel. I was surprised that it didn't take as much oomph as I thought it would. Then, backed off 1/4 turn. Set my torque wrench to 20 ft/lbs to see where I was at. The nut moved more than I expected before clicking which means to me that it was less than 20 ft/lbs after coming back 1/4 turn. Next, set for 35 ft/lbs and moved the nut some more. Then lined up the ring to the next hole which took it to 40 ft/lbs. No play, spun easily. Installed the lock ring, then torqued the outer nut to 50 ft/lbs.
I won't know how this works until I drive it but it "feels" right.
Oh, I pulled the other axle and re-did that side too. Same procedure. It was much looser, so I'm happy I re-did it. I don't feel anything will work loose now.
Actually, I'm surprised at how little difference there is between 30 and 100 ft/lbs. regarding the distance the nut actually turns.
YMMV! :)
