Fuel pump

I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out a fuel problem on my M37, I'm ready to shoot it!! After it warmd up and I have driven it for a while, it cuts out. I check the fuel filter between the carb and the fuel and there is no gas in it. If i use the hand primer on the fuel pump, no fuel pumps. If I wait 20 min, I can pump it by hand and it will fill about 25% and it will restart. I have pulled the cap off of the tank and I have gone so far as to bypass the fuel tank with a small boat tank and it still happens!! Is it possible for the cam on the cranck shaft, that operates the fuel pump to be worn. Robert, Very Frustraited, Nieblas.
