I have a Jacobs unit in my '06 and am planning to put one in my '98. I am extremely pleased with the Jake brake. I may have to go with PacBrake in the '98 because it's an auto. If your transmission is manual, you can use a Jake. Some people don't like the Jake because it's controlled by a vacuum pump. Other models are controlled by a little air compressor. Hope this helps.
