The alternator is new - less than 5 hours on it. It is GM, single wire, apx 100 amp, internally regulated. I have the positive alternator terminal connected to the positive battery terminal and the other wire is ground. (Photo) The other day Vaughn suggested that I need a diode on the positive wire. He said it should be between the positive alternator terminal and the "I" terminal on the ignition switch. Or did he mean the ignition solenoid? My positive alternator terminal goes to positive battery terminal. ???
First, do I have the wiring right?
Second, where do I find the correct diode for the positive alternator terminal?
Thanks,
Sam
