I'm going to embark for the first time on a major restoration project, taking a truck all the way apart, down to the frame. I know conceptually how to do this (and I know it's a crazy amount of work). I'm curious as to what kind of systems you guys use to keep track of the parts as they come off, to make sure they go back on in the right places, in the right order?
I was thinking about a kind of last-in, first-out approach with some small bins so the further away they are from the truck, the later they go back on. And I was thinking about taking digital photographs. But there must be some "good ideas" and some "not-so-good ideas" that you've learned the hard way. Thoughts?
