Floor board fastener question

What has everyone used to fasten the trans cover and floorboards down with. Parts book list 5/16-24 x 3/4" screws. The slotted holes in the floorboards look like they require some sort of automotive bolt with an intregal washer to cover all of the slot which only come with a bolt head. Seems like a round head or truss head screw would be smoother but would require a washer too that is not listed. Truck is a C1 PW
