Here is what my 1948 B1PW had. I know this to be what came from the factory as Dad bought it new in February of '48 and I have owned it since 1974.

The right and left floor pans were held in by 5/16-24 Hex head machine screws that had a square internal tooth lockwasher.

The center transmission cover was held in place by a hexhead bolt with very course threads (Maybe similar to Acme threads like Clint mentioned). These threaded into a sheet metal clip nut similar to a Pal Nut. The clip nut was "U" shaped and slid over the edge of the sheet metal at the mounting holes and then the machine screw went through the cover and clip nut. The threaded portion was only about one complete thread. The threaded part of the clip nut was installed underneath the sheet metal.

Good luck on finding those square internal tooth lock washers.
