I read this post and comments and am not sure about using grease in the knuckles. If I am not mistaken, the closed knuckle type front drive axles require 90w to 140w gear oil, depending on the climate you are in. The theory I am following is that the u-joints, while turning, will hollow out a space in the grease, and will not receive lubrication, whereas if oil is used the u-joint will be running in oil constantly. Of course, if it has zerk fittings, then they must be there for a purpose. I don't know what kind of truck you are working on, and someone here may have a better idea. JH
