It's sure interesting watching what's happening to the vintage car market & curious to understand what's driving the truck market. Not just Power Wagon prices but all older truck prices. Look at Broncos! I think they may have surpassed Power Wagons. Look at the Blazer & Jimmy's...I came across this the other day...I'll post the link below but it's a 69 Blazer that sold on BAT for $165k! Not even a good looking Blazer!
So I understand the car market pretty well. I know that the older vehicles are going down in value as the old folks that appreciated them in their younger years pass away. We can predict that cars like the Acura NSX are going to go through the roof as youngsters that like that crap become adults & have money for toys....but trucks?? I mean the old truck guys are a dying breed.
Trucks like my Autocar, old Mack's...there's basically no market for them. The guys that loved them...they gone.
Power Wagon guys too. So what's driving trucks up while vehicles are basically going down. I mean I can tell you I'm sure glad I didn't buy a Hemi Cuda or Superbird at the height of the market.
I mean the writing is on the wall...electric cars are coming, Biden is turning off the oil valve...at what point does all this expensive old iron become scrap metal?
So...on that note...if you sold your fully restored PW today & cashed in on this market...what would you replace it with?
See here, a junky house is $2mill...so truck prices are still kind of in proportion but when I see some of these great rural homes that sell under $200k...I tell you...I wouldn't want $80k of my money tied up in a toy.
I guess we can't take it with us but I just wonder if there's other fun stuff out there that we haven't priced through the roof?
What would you buy?
