First trip out with the carryall and compounds. At this time the waste gat eopens at 15 lbs, I was not going to touch anything while on the road - so there will be some adjustment yet.
Pump - untouched
Stock HC1 - EGT easy 1250+ and hit 1400 once
WHX30 - EGT max 1250 pushing it up a hill most 1100 on hills
HX30 over HX35 max 950 and that is with my foot in it and the truck is fully loaded on a hill and that was once, generally 900 at 15lbs manifold pressure
I swear the milage has gone up but have yet to confirm
truck runs quieter - even my neighbours mentioned it on the test first trip and my wife says the same
I now shift less often on hills
No intercooler - I wonder what that addition would do
Am I happy - with the results yes, very happy , would I do it again - yes
What I was not happy with is the amount of horsing around and parts chasing I did to get this to work
OIL pump - I went to a stock 6bt unit which runs at the same pressure as a 4bt but about 25% more volume - that was a smart move
Oil pressure sensor - moved to the side of the block, the second turbo oil feed line fit right where the old sensor was located on the oil cooler.
What to do next? check the drive pressure and raise the manifold pressure a bit more and then leave well enough alone :)
