The whole dilemma of black Smokey diesels started about 15 years ago. Guys wanted more power & the easy way was a big turbo. Problem is they took so long to spool that they didn’t get enough air until they got wound up...lots of smoke. So the solution pre electronic was compound turbos. You’ve gone the right direction. You get the benefit of the small turbo to get you going & the big turbo to give lots of air once it’s rolling.
Once she’s all dialed in you’ll be so much happier & a million times happier than an electronic despicable diesel.
