I don't know what the turbo is honestly. It is non wastegated and larger than some 4bt turbos I have seen. I really need to look at the tag and figure it out, I have only been running it for 13 years. It might partially be the guage but boost climbs pretty slowly but maxes out around 17-18 psi. I feel like my peak boost is good and probably plenty for an engine with unknown but probably very high miles. Mine also seems to be among the years that are known to have cracked heads when pulled. I like the sound of instant boost and no smoke. I accidentally got in some deep water over the tailpipe once and after getting on it a bit to get out there was a trail of carbon particles on the surface of the water! I did new injectors from cummins when I installed the engine and it seemed cleaner then, I sort of wonder if I should have them rebuilt.
