I reconnected the standard fuel tank and took off on a drive, with the aux tank and some full gas cans in the bed. The glass bowl fuel filter had been moved and the ceramic element had been left out. Different rubber hose to the fuel pump inlet. After driving around 15 miles, most at 52 mph, it ran out of gas. Was able to coast to the only shade on a side street. Carb bowl was empty. I added fuel to the tank and the gauge was slightly higher than when I left, estimate I used 2 gal and added 4 gal. Put some fuel in the bowl and and let it run for 5 min of so. I decided to try to continue home and it ran out of gas on the same street blocking 2 people's driveways. Could not get it to run from the original tank even thous the gas level was higher. re-connected the auxiliary tank and drove the 5 mile home no problem. It was 90 deg outside and the water temp was around 175. I think I will try to connect the aux tank at the tank outpout to include all the lines running to the pump and isolate only the tank. What say you!!!???
