Hydraulic Fittings

Anyone here know of a sealant that would be okay for a flare type hydraulic fitting? I have a fitting on a hydraulic steering ram that will not stop dripping. I have had the fitting apart and cannot find any obvious damage to either side of the fitting. My guess is that something was formed or machined wrong but male fitting is welded in the ram and even a new hose is pretty expensive if I am not sure that the female side is the problem. Any thoughts???
