Get a small sheet of copper about the thickness of a sheet of vellum or mylar used in engineering plotters and cut a small washer shape out. Carefully push it into the female side of the fitting using a pencil eraser. It won't matter if there is a crease since the soft copper will still crush and make a seal.
I have used that trick several times over the years on flared fittings that are damaged or continue to leak because of a defect.
