What kind of noises, idling in neutral, out of gear, foot off the clutch pedal, would one experience with a broken, worn or maybe missing pilot bushing?
No noises in nuetral with clutch pedal depressed and idling.
Throw out bearing has proper free travel( I.e. not turning while foot OFF the clutch pedal)
I know that the input shaft and clutch plate and disk are turning as one with the pressure off of the pedal. So techically the bronze pilot bushing shouldnt make any noises idling in neutral with foot completly off the pedal right??
But with a bad or non-existent bronze pilot bushing in the crank shaft end, the nose end of the input shaft could be floating a tad? Making noises in the gears of the transmission??
What else might one hear?
Lets assume for now my transmission has no issues. 😉
