Many thanks to Vaughn and Tom for posting the videos.
Concerning the shifting instructions shown in the Driver Training Instruction video posted by Vaughn:
I have a 51 FF with an After transmission and Ive been looking for instructions on shifting it, so this was really helpful. I am curious though; I shift down as shown in the video at 13:48 (disengage clutch, shift to neutral, engage clutch, speed up engine, disengage clutch, shift into lower gear, and finally engage clutch. Wow, thats complex when written down). But on the upshifting I employ two different methods. The first is for shifting before the trany is warm and is the same as shown in the video at 13:21: disengage clutch, shift to neutral, pause briefly, shift into upper gear, and finally engage clutch. But this doesnt work so well for me when the trany is warm, so I use a version of double clutching without speeding up the engine: disengage clutch, shift to neutral, engage clutch, pause very briefly, disengage clutch, shift into upper gear, and finally engage clutch. These methods work very well to prevent gear clash for me (as long as I pay attention). Im wondering what methods yall use for shifting without gear clash.
Concerning the traction devices shown in the Difficult Driving video posted by Tom Petroff:
Beginning at ~ 15:36 are some traction devices shown that are majorly cool. I particularly liked the rear wheel tracks. Does anyone have any data or other information about the traction performance when compared to tire chains?
