I'm trying to revive a T245 engine for an upcoming M37 project. It has been sitting in dry storage for a number of years, and we got it running yesterday (briefly, without a cooling system) to see if it was a runner.
Today I pulled the water pump and t-stat housing and found a LOT of rust in the cooling system. It looks like heavy sawdust in the head and block, and the water distribution tube is really stuck.
Is there any kind of chemical I can put in the water jacket (no radiator connected) to help clean out the crud, but won't damage the engine?
