If it we're me, I would just use an air hose with no fitting at the end, take out the pit-cock or a plug and blow the loose rust out, then flush with water. Most of the rust may have been caused by sitting and once you start the truck, and get it to operating temps, a lot will break loose from heat expansion, flush again. I would be Leary of using a heavy rust remover as the head gasket is soft metal which could result in a problem later. If the water distributor tube is stuck, you will probably need to break it loose from the cylinders before it will come out. PIF has procedures to do that in TIPS section.
