Why do they call it a jeep???

When folks see my Dodge trucks why do they call a Jeep?? Ive always wondered. Dont get me wrong a Jeep is a great 4x4 I own 2 of them. Hey look at the Jeep over there. No sorry its a Dodge Truck.Just a thought!!! The Dodge Boys.
