In getting older and owning lots of vehicles, I am getting quite finiky regarding names of vehicles etc. Many people have passed by the house when I had the M-37 when I lived at my Dad's and have said, "thats a nice Jeep" Well If I was gonna build up a M-37, one of my plans was to put JEEPEATER on the tailgate and put WDX Power Wagon emblems on the side of the hood. YES, I know the M-37 is NOT a Power Wagon Per Se, BUT, It is still better than it being called Jeep...Uggh! that bugs me! I mean, Jeeps are cool, and someday Id like own one. BUT it is funny to hear somebody refer to a Jeep Forward Control as one of them flat nose Econoline Pickups!
By the way, The first 4X4 I owned was a '72 IHC Scout II. I walked into the local discount parts store and I needed an oil pressure sending unit for it. Well the Conversation went like this:
me: "I need an oil pressure sendin unit for a '72 International Scout II with a 345 V8"
counter person: "Who makes the Scout?"
me: "International"....
counter person..."Oh yea...Thats a Chevy Blazer right?..."
me: um no..INTERNATIONAl! as in Internation farm tractors....
With that I walked out...Many times while I drove that binder around People kept callin it a Blazer, a Bronco, a Jeep etc. Finally I wrote on the tailgate "This Scout Eats Blazers and Pisses out Broncos" With that people started leaving it alone...
