And Dean,they were making Dodge flatfendered military 4x4 vehicles years before the first jeep rolled off the assembly line. Willys only introduced a civilian version in 46'a mere few months before Dodges first civilian Power Wagon was offered to the public in 46'. A new PW cost as much as a caddy and was capable of much more, but the jeep was cheaper. So, as its been said so often, you get what you pay for.
