I presently have 1/2" line on one of my winches that appears to be way too stiff. When any slack is given it balls up on the drum like a bad backlash on a casting reel! It also crushes fairly easily--largly due to the "backlash" I supose. (Not sure what kind of cable it is) Nearly all of my winching I've been doing so far has been winching logs out of the woods. I would like to get the extra length and flexabilty that 3/8" cable would provide. I was looking at some Korean 3/8", 6X25, RRL, EIPS(What does that mean?), IWRC wire rope w/ a breaking strength of 7.6 tons. My question is: Would this be adequately strong and crush resistant for a winch line on a MU2 or MU3 or would I end up shreding it up? What do y'all think?
