If you're in the business of selling enormous amounts of tires, of course you put an expiration date on them. In my opinion, a 6-year expiration date is ridiculous and only used as a sales scam. Tires last much longer, especially if they are taken care of. I have never heard of a 7-year old tire failing because it is too old.
