I've told this in the past but I will NEVER own another set of Michelins. Where I used to work they bought 3 4x4 Dodge Trucks with Cummins diesels when they first came out. 2 trucks had spares so a total of 14 tires, all Michelins.
8 of them blew within 2 years and some within one. Dealer wouldn't do anything and Michelin rep said it was abuse(farm trucks) I REFUSED to drive the trucks till they switched them and owners wife fianlly agreed. She said she'd put them on "her" truck. They were feeding the livestock and they heard a boom. Walked out and one blew on her and they had to walk home. She then had use change them too.
When they but the trucks they put a set of six Michelins on their motor home. 2 years later they drove to Texas and 3 blew on them during the trip. She was HOT and understandably so, after paying what those things cost.
All these tires had at LEAST 75% tread. That is why I never will buy Michelins. I've had one Goodyear E rated tire blow on me with 75# tread and that is it. I don't care if someone tells me they "corrected" the problems. They didn't make it right with us and that is all I need to know about them. Rant over ;)
