Years ago I was running a Mercedes Straight truck out the PA Pike, and it was having an overheating issue. Stopped at a truck garage got antifreeze, the guy said leave the rad cap in the first position, did that, worked fine rest of the trip. Next driver put the cap on tight and overheated again.
My motor home runs cooler with the cap loose too
