I posted this in regards to a debate in Lexington VA to ban the Confederate Battle flag from public buildings.
As a designer, I have studied the the proportions, colors and history of many of these flags. I know who designed them and when. Gar

All of the states were slave states at one time, so the same restrictions must apply to all flags that had the institution of slavery. The American flag should be banned for the same reason, to follow this logic. No one seems offended by the Confederate Stars and Bars flag which was the first Confederate national flag. Arguments against this stem from ignorance. The Capitol and White House in Washington DC were built from slave labor! So, ban old glory! The Confederate Battle flag is a combination of the Scottish cross of St. Andrew and the American flag. They had a need to distinguish themselves from the enemy in battle, period.
I have finished a 55-56 Town Panel illustration and book cover and will be posting soon. Gar
