OT Gooseneck vs Fifth wheel

I have a flatbed truck and am looking to haul a fifth wheel camper. I am wondering which of the two (gooseneck or 5th) will produce a better ride. Either way I have to customize the hitch as I currently have about 2" off the bed to the bottom of the camper pin. I have the gooseneck hitch in the truck but don't know if I should get a low profile 5th wheel hitch and install that somehow or modify the pinbox to be a gooseneck coupler. I know there is plenty of good advice here so it will all be appreciated. Thanks
