According to the PIF, a 56" long B belt is supposed to be correct, but I just got one and it's far too loose. I'm trying to assemble my first M37 with a military generator rather than the sundry 12 volt civilian alternator & generator kludges that are on my other rigs, so I don't have a correct belt to measure. My local auto parts guy couldn't cross-reference any of the part numbers in the PIF, so I had him order a 56" industrial belt. It's really hard to figure out how much too long a given belt is, but I'm guessing it's 3-6" too long. Does anybody know for sure what's the correct belt length for an M37 with a stock military generator mounted on its correct bracket?
