Glenn,
Starting in 1961 Dodge completely redesigned their trucks. There is almost nothing that interchanges between a 1960 truck, and a 1961 truck. The wheelbases even changed.
This picture is of a 1961-65 1/2 Sweptline bed.
Like the 1959-60 Sweptline bed it is a welded construction with a steel floor.
The cab style is sometimes called the Sweptline era, but as I said to Norm, I can not find anywhere that Dodge actually called that cab anything like that in the factory literature. All I can find are ads talking about the new Sweptline bed, and how great it is. But if you are talking about common phrasing then this is a Sweptline era or 61-71 cab in the hobby world.
So this is a Sweptline bed, not a Sweptside, and it is in the Sweptline era, not the Power Giant era. Eras being something that we as collectors define, I don't think Dodge thought that much about it at the time.
On to the 1965 1/2 to 1971 Sweptline bed...
Eric
