I've got a crack in my frame too, I'm just gonna grind it out and throw a bead down with my mig, I figure, as long as the weld is equal or bigger than the thickness of the metal it's stronger than it was originally. Adding a plate just makes sure it doesn't break again. I personally don't want that look. Flame away, ha ha!
