I read with interest on the last forum all of the talk about the deficiencies of a 1/2 ton truck. I own an 03 Chevy 1500. the gross trailering weight is 7000 pounds. A trailer and Power Wagon will weigh just under that. (depending on the trailer) Buying a heavier truck is not an option for me, so, if General Motors gives it a 7000 pound rating, and I have to believe they hedge their bets a little bit, why wont this truck work for pulling a Power Wagon. It has a 4800 V-8, 16" tires with 6 lugs, 4 wheel disc brakes, towing package. It is a gutsy truck. (Maybe not compared to yours Paul) Are there any aftermarket upgrades I can do to make it better - safer? I dont plan on pulling the Power Wagon that much, But do want to go to the owa rally (from Vermont).
Thanks for any input, Tim
