I was driving home from Edmonton with a trailer I purchased at auction. It's a beauty...way heavier than any man needs....it's a 30' gooseneck with 3-15k axles. So obviously if you wanted to use it to capacity you'd need a little single axle tractor or something but it sure tows nice...couldn't even feel it back there.
The whole day was a fiasco because I showed up with a one week old truck with a new gooseneck ball only to find out it takes a 3' ball! I've never even seen a 3' gooseneck ball but I have a new duramax & they take a funky ball with a round base. It was a nightmare finding one on short notice but at the last minute I found one.
So I'm driving home...been a long day. I've been on the road since 4am & it's now 10PM & I'm 3hrs from home.
So all of a sudden...crash!!! This car comes flying out of nowhere! It's a 2 lane Hwy with 60mph speed limit. This car decided to pass the semi behind me on a double yellow...then decided to keep on going & pass me! So I'm going like 70mph & I didn't even see her coming until she crashed into my LF fender & wheel & she's going at least 90mph. So I guess she realized she was better to hit me than the oncoming semi & she bounced off my fender and she's going at a 45 degree angle like...she's pushing me into a huge ditch & rock face! So I just cranked the wheel left so I wasn't getting sandwiched between her & the rocks! Unfortunately for her it was like the perfect pitt maneuver at 70mph & it just launched her Jeep Liberty into orbit. Like it rolled 4 or 5 times. Two ladies...both pissed to the gills. Multiple fractures & both in hospital.
I hope they're OK...sheesh...it's shocking how fast crap can hit the fan. No problems for me except a new $116k truck that's all smashed lol. It drove home fared not bad considering.
It's funny...I took a pic of my trailer at the gas station just an hour before it happened!
