Here is one to chew on. This summer, my sons Subaru wouldn't start. Turn the key, no crank. He was about 15 minutes away from my place so I told him hang tight I would come. Before I was out the doorway he called back and said it started. He was on his way here anyway do we brought it into the shop and checked his battery. As I had expected, there was a lot of corrosion around his battery terminals. I pulled the cables and cleaned up the posts, the conneectors and sprayed on the red battery glop. Car started right up. I felt pretty good until a few weeks later when it did it again. And again. Each time he would wait between 10 and 20 minutes and it would start right up. I figured it must be the starter so I replaced it. Now a couple of months later, its doing it again. Short of a bad replacement starter, which I am dubious of, I cant think of anything else. The battery cable connectors are factory done, not the parts store bolt on ends which are mostly worthless. I cant see what would cause a no-start and 10 minutes later crank right over and be good for weeks or months?
Thanks for any input!
Tim
