Here is a question for all of you early truck guys: after re-installing my T/C with new mounting cushions the case seems to be oriented slightly nose-up and the emergency brake rod binds between the top of the case and the bottom of the frame crossmember. It seems, therefore that my case is sitting too high in the frame. My serial number (88750533) is after the range where they were using up the war production mounting brackets but before they re-oriented the case in 1951 to ease the driveline geometry. Just to answer the inevitable question; yes, I did put the mounting brackets back on the same side that they came off of! I'm not sure but I don't think they would go on backwards or reversed...
