could the mounts towards front of case be over tightened? or rear not enough? if they are 2 rubber mounts per side it is not war time brackets.
the WW2 2 speed was not mounted on rubber bushings but used 4 smaller bolts per side with just a 3/8" thick piece of canvas/rubber material as an insulator. you may have the 8 extra holes in floor of cab that are left over from WC floor pans they used in PWs
