Hi,

Got a problem with starting the 1966 WM300 truck. Seems like a bad ground on the starter solenoid but I don't understand were the solenoid grounds through? I've got 12v on the S terminal when I turn the key to start position and about 7 or 8 volts on the I terminal when the ignition switch is in run position.

But the solenoid doesn't always click and engage to actuate the starter motor. Sometimes it does though and then the starter motor turns the engine over.

I replaced the solenoid and the battery ground cable thinking that might have been it.

This solenoid doesn't ground through the ignition switch S and I terminals, does it?
