I finally was ready to take the '53 down the road after doing the 360/NP435 swap. Everything from engine, trans, clutch, starter, and PTO had been rebuilt. The clutch was bled properly numerous times and both master/slave have been adjusted to 1/4" free play at the pedal (a little tighter than recommended), as well as changing the clutch master after discovering a leak in the first one. But the clutch will NOT disengage fully, even with the pedal stop adjuster completely removed. From what I have found, the clutch master cylinders are 1-1/8" bore, which makes them far larger than average- it shouldn't take the pedal going all of the way to the floor to disengage the clutch. Watching the clutch fork, everything moves in sync, as it should... just not far enough. Has anyone else dealt with this problem, and am I just going to have to bite the bullet and go to a hanging pedal setup, even though I have spent a ton of time, effort, and money to keep the pedals in the original location with hydroboost brakes and the 360? Does anyone know of a bigger bore (1-1/2" or even 1-3/4") master cylinder that would work? It is really ticking me off that I cannot enjoy the truck after all of the work. Help!!
