V8 with married transfer

Has anyone done a v8 swap in a ffpw or wc 3/4 with a 5 speed overdrive and a married transfer case? I have no winch. Would go mopar or GM ls as both are reliable and available. Dont care about resale. Will keep the stock drivetrain for nostalgia. Please skip the GM vs dodge banter as it's pretty meaningless that dodge is no longer dodge.
