Went out yesterday to fire up the the 1/2 ton WC. Put the key in the ignition, turned it to the on position and pushed the starter rod. Nothing - dead as a door nail. Checked the battery, and its kaput. I had used the truck just last week. It had water covering the plates and the charging system works as it should. Battery terminals and cables were clean bright and tight. Ok, I check my warranty and its good for 6 months. Battery was 7 months old. What a joke. Its an Interstate group 2 6 volt commercial. I remember the 1st battery I purchased for the truck back 30 years ago, that one lasted 8 years! It was an off brand. Go figure. It was probably a stupid move, but I bought another Interstate. Funny thing is, the place I bought it from charged me $30.00 less for it than the place I bought the dead battery from. Both are Interstate battery stores. LOL. When hooking it up, I checked to make sure I did not have a short or some kind of draw on the system. It checked out fine. Will see how long this battery lasts. I drive my truck at least once or twice a week. guess they do not make them like they used to.
