Go with the PTO!!. A pto winch does not cost much more than a electric winch. What does cost more is the pto unit and the associated driveline components to drive the winch. I have just finished installing a 12,000 lb. Braden pto winch on a 1989 Dodge W-250 HD. The winch with cable was about $1,300, pto $350, and driveline $300. Don't forget you will probably have to fabricate a costom bumper to mount the winch. Anyway anybody can go out and purchase an off the shelf electric, give your truck what it needs, GO WITH THE P.T.O.!
