Owe VPW another backhanded apology...

A while ago(maybe 6 months ago), I placed my first order with Vintage Power Wagons in Iowa. I ordered a set of lifting shackles, and a steering column insulator for my 62 M37. Well, I got the wrong shackles, and the insulator which was supposedly in stock(previous phone call to them stated so) was suddenly backordered. This ticked me off, so I promptly left them a nastygram phone message, giving them my two cents about their service etc(they caught me on a bad day). About two days later, I got a call from somebody there (I think his name was Dave), who apologized and told me it would be no problem to return the shackles. Seemingly a decent fellow, I opted to keep the backorder on the insulator kind of as a good gesture. As time went by(he said by March I should get it), I figured he was blowing smoke up my tailpipe about the insulator, and I simply forgot about it. I wrote it off as a ten dollar lesson learned about VPW. I vowed to not deal with them ever again, and told more than one person about it when the subject of VPW came up on various websites. Well, wouldn't you know it, I open my front door this afternoon, and there is this little box on my step. Whats inside? Sure enough, the backordered insulator, four months late, but here nonetheless. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is, VPW must not be that bad after all. I mean they could have totally forgotten about the small part and my ten bucks, but they didn't.

I'm still not happy with their service, as they could've notified me that I was not forgotten about, and that the part was on its way. Then again, at least they sent it. For this, if for nothing else, I must say I am appreciative. Now, will I ever deal with them again? At this point, all I can say is "maybe". Will I badmouth them again to other people? That depends on if I ever deal with them again.
