Of all the Dodge trucks since 1989, I'd take an 89-93 any day. I'm just so sick of the direction that vehicles in general have taken. They're just getting too complicated & my life is complicated enough without worrying about owning a truck so complicated that when it breaks, even the trained Dodge mechanics can't fix them without hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of diagnostic equipment.
It was so refreshing looking at the 92 Dodge yesterday...It's virtually like a 70's truck with a good engine in it! Who cares if the Getrag transmission is the weak link...rebuild a spare & keep it in the garage...just like we would on a Flat Fender. Detroit has to step back & re-evaluate the direction they're taking.
I don't need 400hp & 700ft/lbs of torque, just fix the damn transmission problem so it'll hack the 200hp & 400lbs of torque!
There are improvements I can see that would be a nice over my 95 F350 technology....but power is NOT one of them. It'll climb virtually any hill pulling 10,000lbs at 60mph...what more do we need for gods sake?
They just seem to be putting their efforts in the wrong place to me...anyone else think so?
