cab roof advice

Has anyone ever replaced just the sheet metal skin on the cab roof of a flat fender in one piece? My cab is pretty rough and the roof is beaten badly. I have some metal working skills ,but I have never tried any thing like this. I do have access to a donor roof panel. I can't seem to make up my mind to try this or get a better cab to work on. Any words of wisdom for me?
