The cab I am working on is a 51, I also checked a 47 cab and a post 56 cab, they all had them. As Vaughn has pointed out, they were stated in the late 30s. And yes, if you look in the slot that the check arm comes out, you can see the rivets. Only pull your kick panel if you want to verify there is actually a rubber block still attached to those rivets! The ones I removed were pretty brittle.
Like Clint had experienced, the drivers door had been severely overextended tearing the metal of the pillar. In addressing that, I found the rubber blocks.
