Clutch again

Transmission is out. Cause of the malfunction was a spring in the clutch disc that let go and is mangled. The pressure plate and flywheel are smooth with no scratches or gouges but I went and ordered a complete clutch kit anyway. Is it also necessary to re-surface the flywheel? I have removed the plate between the flywheel and the oil pan and have wrench access to the nuts.
Is there a problem removing the flywheel from underneath? Do those nuts have to be torqued back down?
